Basing on the new GAX3 test architecture, SPEA redefines the horizons of flying probe testing, launching a series of innovative systems to answer the widest range of production requirements.
Drastic reduction of the test time, integration of advanced smart functions, enhanced accuracy and diagnostic depth, unprecedented expandability, are some of the key points of these new test systems, able to give substantial advantages in terms of cost of test, ease of use, productivity and test coverage.
Faster Test
With SPEA’s new-generation flying probers, the test time is more than halved:
• The multi-process architecture allows the performance of multiple test techniques in a single program, optimizing the probe routing
• The board can be contacted on one or both sides simultaneously
• The full linear motion with linear optical encoders guarantees high acceleration without losing accuracy
• The measurement acquisition time is reduced to a few microseconds, while no inter-test time is required
• It is possible to compose high-productivity in-line flying probe test cells, in order to use the flying prober for the production test reaching the required line throughput
• The innovative SMART ICT Test brings a full test coverage without performing useless and time-consuming measurements, by an optimized combination of test techniques
Highest Accuracy
The flying probes overcome all the accessibility limits, contacting directly the pins of 01005, 0201, RQFP components.
Extreme accuracy in probe positioning is reached thanks to the axis motion based on linear motors with linear optical encoders on each X-Y-Z axis. These are not just positioning encoders, but real measuring systems, with 0.012 μm resolution, able to tell dynamically where the probe really is, with absolute and unequalled precision.
Multi-function test
Board testing with SPEA’s flying probers is accurate and complete: The systems can be equipped with the instrumentation to perform, in addition to full in-circuit test (powered or not), multi-function test including all the techniques required for the board. Functional test as well as on board programming, optical test, boundary scan test, power functional test, dynamic digital, cluster and open pin test can be integrated on the system, satisfying all different test needs.
Plug&play, easy-to-use testers
The integration of advanced smart functions reduces the level of skill required, simplifying programming and use of the systems, since most of the experience required is integrated on the tester, that is able to automatically execute the sequence of operations normally done by an expert programmer.
The test program development requires just a few click on the mouse, while the AutoDebug and AutoTuning function apply all the expertise required to verify the test program generation efficiency and the real measurement capability.
Range of Models
The 4060 is a multi-purpose system that offers the maximum performance and expandability. It is characterized by the widest test area, the double sided probing, the possibility to perform powered functional and boundary scan tests, the multiple board loading modules (manual, in-line, shuttle).
The 4030 represents the only flying prober specifically designed for the end-of-line testing of high-volume productions. When accessibility limits or frequent layout changes make it impossible or not convenient to use bed-of-nails testers, the 4030 can be proficiently used in production test, since its throughput capability is comparable to bed-of-nails systems.
SPEA 4030 Hi Productivity Flying Probe Tester
The 4020 offers the same quality performance of 4060 and 4030, but at an entry-level price. Easy-to-use and extremely compact, the 4020 is especially suitable for testing prototypes and small series.
